All I can say is that my cell phone is 2 years old and the battery still works. I keep it on to charge it every night.

I never turn my phone off when I charge it, and I haven't had any problems in the years that I have owned it.

I just started turning it off when I charged it because the salesperson at the cell phone place told me to - but I haven't seen too much of a difference.

Its not true unless the phone itself is different from other common phones. Its does not harm the phones either. Its a different story if the phone is totally flat, you'll have to let it stick with the charger a few minutes before turning it on back.

Hello dear inpulsive. I am not so sure about this, but usually I get my cell phone charged either with it switched on or off. I don't see any difference as this Nokia 1100 cell phone of mine has been in good use after three years. I love it for its long time lasting battery and good signal. This battery of my cell phone lasts as long as seven days when there are incoming and outgoing calls every day. Thank you for your discussion, dear inpulsive.

Yeah, my cell phone lasts pretty long, too, and I just heard that you weren't supposed to leave it on, but I guess it doesn't really matter.

I do the same thing. I haven't really found any difference so far.

It really doesn't make a difference but in working with AT&T for 2 years I can tell you this.... ALWAYS let your battery die down as much as you can before charging your phone it extends the life of the battery twice as much!!!
