All those sites that promote Work From Home - are those really genuine?

I have been looking for a job that could be done online from home living anywhere in the world. Almost for the last 5 years I have been trying to locate a real place but to my total frustration I failed to find any till date. I signed up with many sites paying hard cash and finally ended up in miserable despair. I wonder if any one has ever succeeded in this line and found any real place that provides genuine Home-based work. Will appreciate to get responses on this matter.
