We all know that the internet is the internet? Yet we sometimes call it other things, sometimes made up names and sometimes names that mean something slightly different, here are some of the most common:
- World Wide Web
- Intranet
- Net
- Online
So what do you call it or do you just call plain old internet.
I either call it the internet or teh internetz if I am with close friends. I think we started calling it that about 2/3 years ago when we went through a phase of adding "z" to things and saying "the" as "teh".

I have heard people call it the "net" or the "web" but never "world line" or "global connection" do you use them casually or do you just use them in formal times, such as letters or professional phone calls.

I use it casually, I like to be unique and make up my own stuff and nick names. That's what makes me who I am. I like to be different.

etc.

I never thought of that either, I have heard people calling it the "web" but I have never done so myself.

Thanks for replying. It is understandable that what you call it cases, it all depends on the sentence that I am using it in for me "I am going on the internet" "I am online at the moment".
