Foxboro Hottubs- Stop Drop and Roll

I heard that stop drop and roll is a side project of green day and that foxboro hottubs is actually green day.The reason they use a different name is because they did not want this album to be compared to their previous masterpiece,american idiot.is this true?can someone explain about this project?
