Yes, it needs to be verified if you really want to use the money. As for me, I haven't verified it yet since I don't have any plans of spending it yet. hehehe. Happy Mylotting! Cheers!

Hello unknown87! No, you don't have to verify your account in order to receive funds. However, you can only receive a set amount ($500) unless you verify your PayPal account. Also, there is a limit too when transacting online ($100).
In order to lift this limits, you have to verify a credit / debit card. That way, you can receive more than $500 and you can shop online without worrying about your account limit.

Depends on where you live.
If you live outside the US, most likely that you need to verify your paypal account using a debit / credit card.
If you live in the Philippines like me, there's a debit card called "EON card" that you can use to verify your paypal account.

No you dont have to need a vverified paypal account but should have a paypal account to get paid.
