I have a little black dress and have worn it to two formal events...so it cost me about $12 each wearing (I'm frugal, what can I say?) I don't listen to fashionistas anyway...my body isn't built for fasionable clothes!

I've actually worn it more than twice, but I won't say for what...let's just say it was a hit!

Same with me. I don't always follow what fashion dictates. I have a black dress that wouldn't categorically fit as a little black dress but it's comfy.

I don't have a black dress.I have no chance to wear it.It's formal.I prefer to jeans and T-short.But when I go to work and become a real woman,I think I may need an elegant little black dress.Perhaps this is a symbol of being a woman.

True, a black dress looks elegant. Like you, i prefer jeans and shirts. But I don't think I can wear a dress to work.. LOL!

Ooops... i meant dresses in the general sense :) I'm used to wearing slacks instead of skirts or dresses when I go to work :)

hi gunslinger!
yeah, i know that it should be a staple in any girl's wardrobe, sadly, i have not found the perfect black dress for me. i dunno, i just haven't found one...anyway, i don't have that many clothes. just enough for me. but when i need to go on special occasions, i just buy a new dress. ehehe
i think it is a good thing to own though. i want something that is very flexible and i can mix and match with accessories and still look different. :)
good day and God bless you dear!

I like light colored dresses too. In fact, most of my dresses were in pastel shades.
Hey, black makes us look elegant, not old LOL! I think I share your sentiments here :)

I have a little black dress, but I never really wear it. I only bought it because I wore it for a very special occasion a couple of years ago, but I haven't really worn it much since then. I don't think it is really that necessary to have one though. I think that it's good to have at least something dressy to wear for special occasions, but I don't think it has to actually be a little black dress.

Yeah this is true. A black dress is sort of the default dress when it comes to formal gatherings, but any dress/attire will surely function as well.

i have a silk black bodice elegant short dress the cinches at the waist with a black silk rose of the same material. it is old...i have had it forever...since maybe late 80s or early 90s. i dont even know when i bought it or for what occasion. but every time i wear it, it makes an elegant statement, usually at a wedding or some party, which is rare. i wear it with black felt pumps with diamont studs on the back, black felt quilted circular handbag with black and gold braided long handle, little black bolero jacket, some diamond earrings, bracelet and necklace, and simple hair with red lips and red nails.

I bet it looks good. The way you described it says its simplicity at its best!

I don't have a little black dress, rather a conservative long one with long sleeves. LOL I don't think I could fit into a "little" black dress, but that's OK. I look very good in the black dress that I have.

I do have a black dress too, but not one that could fit into the LBD categories. It's a dress that I'm comfortable wearing in on occasions that asks for a formal attire.
Yeah, what's important is we look good in our own dressses/clothes!
