Oh my gosh, it was sooooo hot here in NJ today with humidity it was unbearable. I am usually cold, and tolerate of the heat, but today proved me wrong. I could'nt stop sweating, it was in the high 90's. I had all outdoor activities today, the frozen water I brought along was tepid within a half hour. How hot was it where you are and what did you do to beat the heat??

I'm also in Jersey. Hot hot hot!! It was 96 down in Glassboro this afternoon when I ran to the store for my mother. I wouldn't have gone then if my daughter hadn't come with her car that has AC! Too hot for me - thank GOD Mom has central air!!!

I cannot imagine that kind of heat with the humidity you have there! It's been between 95 and 102 for the past week here in West Texas and it's just unbearable. To keep cool especially if you have outdoor activities you can wear neck coolers. You make a scarf long enough to go around your neck and wide enough you can sew it the long sides together. Then you put in a teaspoon or so of polymer crystals that you can get at most garden centers. and sew it together. Soak is for about an hour and let the polymer crystals swell. Blot the moisture from the ends of the scarf and tie it aroung your neck or your head. The crystals retain the moisture all day and help cool you down. Here in Texas a lot of construction workers and people that work out doors all day wear them.
