obama: the muslim link

This year's US presidential campaign has really exposed the fact that America is not exactly what it claims to be; a great nation, a land of opportunity where anyone can aspire to anything. I guess it is only some people that really have that right and not everyone. Women, African Americans and other minorities really have a tougher time. I guess there will be no point for a muslim to ever want to aspire for the position of president or any other high position in the US. This year's presidential campaign was more or less a test of Americas claim to greatness. I guess America did really poorly in that test.

Exactly why should what's in someone's "origin" have anything to do with who we'll vote for? Obama may have had some Islamic relatives but he isn't nor has he ever been a Muslim, but even if he had been, what difference does that make? We have a Congressman who is a Muslim and I haven't heard of anything terrible happening because of him. Annie
