Chess or Checkers?

Which one do you prefer to play? I like checkers better because I get to say "King Me!" I've never learned how to play chess though, I like games that have a fairly quick ending. I would like to learn how to play chess, I feel it would help with problem solving and patience. King or Queen, choose your next move very carefully.

Havent played checkers for a long time and I have never played chess before. I prefer checkers. Cos the king or the queen can jump and fly from one end to the other ....LOL...I don't like chess. It involves too much thinking.....dont want to tax by brain!!! LOL

I think checkers it is not more a beautiful game since it was demostrated that best play is a draw game.
Last year was demostrated by a computer that best game is a draw.
So nowadays a computer can win or draw every game against a man.
Instead in chess it is not yet demostrated.
However chess is more rich game........in my humble opinion

I understand, sometimes I just want to play, not think.

Which checkers do you mean? I know only one indoor game called "Chinese Checkers" and I love it. We did not have to say "King Me!" in it. As for Chess, I have no brains for it, and don't mind not having the brains for it too.
Cheers and happy mylotting

I use to play Chinese Checkers with my grandmother, she was so sweet to let me win. I'm talking about regular checkers, black and red squares and the same color of pieces.

Hmmm, I prefer to play checkers, because it's easier and takes less concentration. Plus, the games does not go on and on and you don't have to think so hard that it hurts your head.
It is fun to play chess. However, I usually get my you-know-what kicked at that, plus, it's hard to remember how each piece moves. I try to play it on my computer once in awhile (it was loaded on it). Just let me say, the computer ALWAYS wins (well, at least when the other player is me)!

I've never learnt checkers, but I've been taught chess a number of times. The trouble is that my memory is obviously lacking and I forget the different moves between one game and the next! My son recently learnt, and I really must reteach myself so that he has someone to play.

Hi there, I honestly don't know how to play either one. I think checkers is easier to play than chess, right? I just have never had a set or anyone that was interested in the games to play them. I guess most everybody has played one or the other, but not me. Are they easy to learn?

I am with you. Checkers for me. I never finished learning how to play chess. One day I am sure my hubby will teach me, taking up where my dad left off. Checkers is always fun, even when I don't win.

I have played both checkers and chess, and I believe they are both fun, even though chess can take a while, and it was a lot harder for me to learn every move and play,it has been so long since I played chess I have forgotten how,but everyone knows how to play checkers, so I guess I would say checkers is my favorite especially if I want to relax, but if I am in the mood to think and strategize then chess would be my favorite.

I love both, however, I think the chess is more stimulate your mind, when you win ,you could be happier because it is so hard to win!
