When did you buy your first house? We bought our house in san jose in the year 2004. Now we are planning to go back to chennai next year for our kids' studies...

Yes. Its very costly here in Bangalore. For 1 Crore you will get a plot of 30 x 40 dimension in a good locality. If you want to build a house, it would cost you still more. How much did you pay for your home in US. Are a software professional, or is your spouse into software?

My husband and I purchased our first home at the end of last March! It was a very long and a bit stressful process, but we ended up closing escrow at the end of the month and thankfully the house was in pretty good condition. We made a few improvements to a few bathrooms and the flooring in the kitchen and new appliances, but the sellers gave us a credit for that, so it ended up all working out. Although the market is how it is - we never regret purchasing! It will eventually go back up later down the road and we had plans on keeping it as a rental anyhow after we're done living in it! It's a 3 bedroom and with three kids, we've almost outgrown it already. Our next home will be a 5 bedroom preferrably with a loft! I'm speaking it!

We haven't bought a house yet. We were looking to buy a house but then the economy started getting shaky so we deicded to put it off for a little bit and see what happens with the economy and make sure we will be able to afford it.

We bought our first house in July of 2005, I was pregnant with our 4th child and so it was a very exciting time.
We are planning to stay in this house for a few more years and then with any luck we will have done the house up nice and will be able to sell it. Then I am hoping that we can move to the seaside to live!

I bought my first house when I was 18 and my second at 19 and the rest followed. Rental property is to much for a single mom. I sold them when I got divorced and now own my own family home. I would like to buy or build a log cabin one day!!! someday I will get to my goal.

I bought my first house (well it's a penthouse apartment) just 4 months ago. Up until then I rented a place. I really love this new place, right in the center og my city.
