Okay, so I am getting married this summer. It will be brief, there won't be a caterer or a photographer, nor will anything about my wedding be "traditional". There will be a brief ceremony at a Vegas-style wedding chapel with very few people in attendance. I just don't have the patience or the need to have a big ceremony with all the planning that is involved. I just don't feel any of that stuff is important. I just want to get married to my awesome fiance and have a wonderful marriage. Spending thousands of dollars on decorations, food and a reception hall is just unnecessary to me. Does anyone else feel this way? I feel like the only one sometimes! Thanks!

we felt the same way and were married in a church with the organist and her husband as witnesses and nobody else. our marriage lasted thirty four years so it was really romantic. I did not miss any of that expensive stuff at all.
