my brother deleted all my downloaded music.

Oh no...so sorry...i had a hard relationship with my Brother too...but it's for another story...I would say , try restoring your computer to another date. Most all computers have that ability...go to START...then find/or my control panel and it should be in there. I have a pc. I don't know what you have...but i am pretty sure that unless you have an old computer you can 'RESTORE' to another date, before the deletion of the files.

i know what you mean. especially since this is my own computer, so my brother had no right to even be on it when he did the same to me. I guess he was pissed off that I didn't follow through on a "deal" we had to pool our money to buy an xbox360 (i eventually decided it wasnt worth it), so even though we had no physical proof that we had agreed on it he thought it was "unfair" (10 years old, what can you expect). i would have had to pay most of it anyway. but back to the discussion. so yeah he deleted all the music off my laptop while i wasnt home. i guess thats what i get for not setting a password to get onto it right? =/ oh well. hope you get your music and everything back without too much trouble.

That's bad news. Maybe it's still on the recycle bin. If not, there's a software that can restore back those files.

Did he delete, delete, or just delete. Check the recycling bin. It may still be there. And even if not, there are still ways to recover stuff. It's never quite completely gone unless he wiped your harddrive which he obviously didn't do. Hate to be your brother right now...

I also hate my brother sometimes who just delete files in our family computer without asking if the file is important or not. Aside from securing a back - up files with my removable disk (USB), i've found this program which can recover deleted files even if they are years ago. The program is called "freeundelete". Just look for it in any search engine and then install it in your computer. Even if you're brother wiped out all the files, you will feel at ease if you have this. (just always keep a back - up of your installer in case your brother delete the program as well). This program helped me a lot in recovering my thesis. Hope you recover your files also.

oh i can definitely feel your pain.. although not exactly caused by a person intentionally deleting my files. my pc was reformatted last january coz it always crashes and shows the blue screen stop error. he then re-installed windows a couple of times but it still crashes so he has no choice but to reformat the pc.. all songs, all my files, 2-3 gigs worth of songs, pics, e-books, documents, gone, just like that... huhuhu. i should have backed them up in a flash drive. anyway, back to your bro, make him promise not to delete your files without permission, coz it is wrong in the first place. what would his reaction be if it was the other way around and he was the one that deleted your files? wouldnt he be mad as well after alotting lots of time to download those files? try to talk to him. and like the other user said, create your individual user id on the pc, it should keep your files safe that way.

Don't hurt him when you get a chance to talk to him. It could have been done by mistake. The good thing about it is this now there are songs that you might not have had downloaded and now you can add those songs to the list of the songs that you lost. Then you could also do this get a back up hard drive that you can connect to the pc and take from the pc just for music then that way if you loose songs again; you will have them on back up.

Yeah.. As the previous post mentioned, just check the recycle bin.It might still be there . Or ask some computer tech about recovering lost files. There are ways to get files back bourne

Whoa... I'm sorry to hear what your brother did. I understand you. I love music too and if my sister (I don't have a brother) did that to me I'd really have my revenge on her and I'd give her a piece of my mind.

You need to back up everything. You should get something you can put all your music downloads in and keep it on you at all times. Don't give him the opportunity to do something like this again. Revenge is ugly but that is up to you.

Just kill your brother!!Have you ever tried any undelete program?If you are lucky enough,it can recover your deleted files.

Make yourself personal account on the computer with password protection. There are programs in the net that can help you get this files back. If you delete something from the computer you are only freeing space on the disk. That doesn't mean that there is no more your music on the computer. You just don't have acces to this part of the disk couse it waits to be writen again by other files. You must only restore it by special program.
