I use the dishwasher the majority of the time but I do not put my pots and pans in there. I like to scrub them. Is that strange? How about ya'll? Since I live alone it takes me a week to fill it up!!

I have never in my life owned a dishwasher and never felt the need for one. I kind of like washing dishes and getting the kitchen all cleaned up, but I only do it once a day now since I live alone.

we don't have a dish washer so we always do the dishes manually. yes, it takes time but we got used to it already.

No I dont think its strange at all...We have four ppl living in this house and I'm more inclined to handwash the dishes than run the dishwasher if there isnt a full load to do ya know....My husband will run a half load in the machine and that just doesnt make any flippin sense to me..

We don't have a dishwasher, so we have to wash them by hand. I don't like doing them.

I have never used the dishwasher in the 6 years I have lived in a house that has one. I feel the only way to know you are getting your dishes clean is to wash and scrub them yourselves. I will never use a dishwasher I will alway wash my dishes by hand.

We have dishwasher, but we only use it for major loads of dishes. Come to think of it I have never used our dishwasher. Thank you for posting this discussion. You helped me come to a realization. I guess I like to save energy and water so much that I just do them myself every time. Thanks again and Happy myLotting.

Most of the time I handwash dishes etc. but if there is more than usual like after a get together with family I'll definitely use the dishwasher. Sometimes I put small pots and pans in the dishwasher, but I know what you mean about washing pots and pans separately. I do that too sometimes. I just like to get dishes out of the way as soon as they are used.

My husband and I live in Canada part time and the USA part time. At our place in the USA we have a dishwasher, but at our place in Canada, a very old uildin, we do not. I wish we had a dishwasher in Caada. It would make things a lot easier for both o us.

I don't have a dishwasher cos it uses too much electricity and tariffs keep going up up up! My household is small too, only two of us for now, and unless we host guests for a large meal, we seldom have that many dishes to wash. and we cook sometimes, not every day so we really don't need a dishwasher. It's also kinda fun to do the dishes together sometimes. and in future when i have kids i fully intend to train them to do the dishes as part of responsibility training haha.

Wow, a week? I run mine about once a day. I don't think it's strange, although I will put anything (except wood) in the dishwasher if it fits. I have enough to do without doing more. My mom washes her pots and pans by hand but everything else goes into the dishwasher. I guess it all depends on how much time one has to spend on dishes.

It depends on the pot. Like if it's a pot that can be harmed in the dishwasher, then I wash it by hand. If not, I throw that bih in the dishwasher!!! And no. It's not strange. Cleanliness is next to holyness! Where have I heard that? Hmmm...xD
