Apart from birthdays and the usual anniversaries, is there something else you would really like to celebrate? How about - Happy Divorce Day! Congratulations on Being Single Again! It's the Anniversary of our First Date! - or first something else?
Any ideas? Mine would be to Celebrate Life and Being Alive! Then every day would be a reason for celebration.

Like you, mine is an everyday celebration of my being blessed with another opportunity. An opportunity to get further and to be more successful.
But if I was able to hit a goal at work, surely, I'll treat myself with an elegant fabulous experience at a friendly with good ambiance SPA.

Yes I think reaching a goal in a job or career or just achieving what you wanted at work is a good enough reason to celebrate.

My friends and I always go out to have a big meal as celebration after taking an examination or after finishing a hard work. Sometimes we go shopping or singing for celebration and relax. And there is a lot of festivals in China such as tomorrow, the Dragon Boat Festival. One of my roommates will make the Tzung Tzu herself for us for celebration. We just finished preparing the glutinous rice and reed leaves which will be used for making the Tzung Tzu tomorrow. I am so happy that there will be delicious things for me to eat tomorrow.
As you said, apart from the festivals, there are still lots of things worth us to celebrate, and I love your words very much that "Celebrate Life and Being Alive!", "then every day would be a reason for celebration". So I enjoy my life everyday and share my happiness with others, that is one kind of celebration.

Yes I also think it's good to celebrate after taking exams or finishing some work. I hope you and your friends will have a lovely day tomorrow with plenty of nice things to eat. Thank you too for your comment on my words.

Thank you for your wishes. We really have eatten lot of things that day. I fact, the whole day, we nearly kept on eating!
By the way, the day I posted my response should be the Dragon Boat Festival. And the day we had big meal is the day after that festival. Very sorry for that mistake.

Yes, paid2write, there is actually an anniversary that we celebrate here in our home. It's the Anniversary of Our First Date. Even though we are married and have an anniversary for that, we do view the Anniversary of Our First Date as the more important one. It just signifies a real beginning for us, so that's the date we have focused on.

I thought that was the purpose of going to church on a Sunday, or daily prayer, but I will let you have it as a way of celebrating life. The important thing is the gratitude you feel in your life.

Well for me, this is what I will celebrate. I thought that on myLot that we are all here to discuss, not to condone. That is not what I go to church for. Church is supposed to be in you whether you attend or not. My blessings for me is to be fulfilled by a celebration by God. I think that He is the only one that can grant me this celebration, not you..

Hie paid2write,
Anything could be celebrated, it's just the usual ones are so commercialized that I feel they have lost the whole meaning of it. And people should start to be more creative and appreciative when they celebrate anything.
They should truly know what they are celebrating about and not for the sake of it.
And I would like to celebrate coming soon in a month anniversary with a friend I came to like online a year ago. But honestly I don't know how we going to celebrate...lol.
Guess it's just enjoying each other's presence together online and reminiscing.
Happy 1st Anniversary Online, is that appropriate..lol

Everyday is a celebration for being alive. Everyday I asked the question to the little birdie in my shoulder, "Is my end today?" and this helps me to celebrate life daily.
I do celebrate the birthdays of all my kids and grandkids with a little "pancit" (noodles with veggies) and "puto" ( rice cake). It is always great to do this with the kids appreciating the activity.
All the best!

I think your life must have changed a lot in thirty years. Divorce can be worth celebrating if it gave you a new start in life.

This would be for my mom. I'd go with Happy Divorce Day do da-do-da. Since we recently found out we were pregnant, maybe happy prego day! The sky is the limit.

Lol..Ive seen lots of cards in the shops celebrating divorces and being single again!!...im not too sure whether they are things to celebrate or not!!!...but I suppose we all have our `special` days ...days that are memorable to us...that we could celebrate in some way.

I have not seen divorce cards but I'm sure they do exist. Not always cause for celebration I agree but a new start in life can be something to be grateful for, on the anniversary of divorce or separation.

Mine would be great husband day! I love my husband so much and I love to bake and cook. For some reason it is a way that I show I love him. I love when he eats and the great thing is he is as skinny as a rail and can eat like a horse. Lucky me! However he works so hard I would love to celebrate a day set aside for him. Not like fathers day because that is mainly for our kids, but more a spouses day.

life is a attitude to us.every body has his own opinion.so we can resolve the same issue with different ideas.as you said:happy divorce day!.yeah, unless you are a very optimistic person, you can confront this issue so easily.yes, there are too many things worth to celebrate.but in my heart, even it is only a small thing;maybe a word, a book, a good meal, etc. Just a attitude....

I like your train of thought. I guess mine would be Happy Keep from Getting Pressured to Marry Day. It's like when I turned 27 people starting coming out of the wood work, ready and pushy about setting me up on blind dates. Ironically, the only person who is telling me to just do my own thing is my father. I thought he of all people would want me to get married, but no he's actually the most supportive about me being single! : )

Yes I like that idea. Getting married should be your idea and not because of pressure from other people. So go on and celebrate staying single.

Nice post, paid2write. I'll give you a plus rating. :) Anyway, I do celebrate 'other' events. Me and my boyfriend celebrate the monthsary of our relationship; I celebrate a friendship monthsary with a cyber friend; I also celebrate (for the sake of remembering and fun) the day when I broke up with my first boyfriend (it's such a thrill) *laughs*. I don't know the reason why I enjoy this kind of things so much. Is it that I just wanted to relish the experiences that I enjoyed before or cannot forget? I'll probably end up giving myself my own gift when it's 'My Day' (that would probably be every October 27th of every year, and is definitely not my birthday). :D

I like the idea of monthly or 'monthsary' celebrations. I don't know what happened on October 27th but perhaps you should be celebrating that on the 27th of every month as well!

Maybe to celebrate "being friends". I just think friends are very important to me. They help me be through a lot of rainy days and be there to support me. Then if we can have a day to celebrate this and be together, I think it's really a great idea, especially when we all go to work.

I think that is a brilliant idea. There should be an official Friends Day so everyone could celebrate. The people who miss out on Mothers Day, Fathers Day or Valentines Day would not feel left out if they could be with their friends on their special day.
