The only time where your child will receieve the most throughou exam is when your child is born. After that the doctors are in the exam room for about 2 minutes, sometimes 5. And then they only go by what the parent is saying or not saying. To me, everytime a child goes in for a well baby check up they should treat that exam as thoughly as the one they get right after birth. Also they sould be more indepth as to what the child is doing at home and at daycare. Those questionaires that they give you tofill out..sometimes you don't even have enough time to fill them out. If doctors spent just a few more minutes going in depth at the well baby check ups then I believe that more children would be getting the help they need earlier in life rather than later therefor give them the chance at a more meaningful life.

I dont think all blame can be laid at the doctor though as most parents are with it enough to mention to the doctor if they feel a more than 2 minute cursory glance is needed.
Im a parent and if I feel my child needs more than their throat and eyes checked I tell them that doctor sees my child once maybe twice its not up to them to know what, other than the normal, needs checking.
