ala
As a child I remember planting a few mango and berry (Kala jamun)trees in my country place, where space was not a problem at all. After that, only a few years back, I remember planting a banana tree in Orissa, where we have a house. This year, it has some healthy fruit. I just love looking at the plantains.
I want to share one thing with you bala. As a child I remember shifting to a new place on my father's transfer.
We were supposed to station there for a few months only. My mother cleaned the bunglow, both inside and out perfectly and then planted some saplings. A few days after that we would be leaving the place forever. On being asked, my mother explained the attendants that we should try to leave a place more beautiful than we have found it. In this way we take care of the nature and live a decent life. She's like that. I wish I could imbibe a little from her.

The seeds of great thoughts and concern, manners and virtues of life that the good parents sow in the young, virgin and fertile minds of the young ones grows into large trees whose flowers spread the fragrance of love and goodness around them and whose fruits are beneficial to the entire mankind.
My love and regards to your mom as a token of respect and BR for the wonderful daughter.

Loads! When we first moved here we planted quite a few fruit trees, and it's nice to see that they are carrying fruit this year. Then when my son was born we planted about 25 more. I have lots of oak and chestnut trees which are ready to be planted out soon too.

Hello balasri,
I have planted quite a few saplings/plants/trees in my life time. My elder sister and I maintained a small garden in the courtyard of our house. From flowers, fruits, vegetables to trees just for their cool shadow in the burning summer heat, we both did quite a lot. Our school used to celebrate a plants-day, where we would go in teams to plant different kinds of trees at different sites. We still have a small space in our house (not the original one) dedicated for plants in addition to flower beds.
