i have always been a fan of ashanti since her day one. seeing the chubby two-pieced wearing mami in ja rule's "always on time" video made me drawn to her like bee to a honey. then, came along the "foolish" video that made me immidiately run in the nearest music store to purchase her ever popular debut album. she was the most popular hooker in every rap you will hear then. the year was 2000. 8 years ago. then, her abrupt rise to the top was slowly going down inevitably. she was outshined by beyonce, be it into dancing, singing, sexiness, and popularity. then on, she was hated on by some of her fans. but it does not include me. yes, admittedly, i liked beyonce too. my jaws does drop whenever i watch beyonce's concerts and when she belts out the most incredible high-noted songs. but personally, i have always been loyal to ashanti. ashanti's themes to her music videos was much more realistic. so realistic as if you were watching you own lives in the tube. (im reffereing to her "foolish" and "rain on me" video). and i think her songs were much more heartfelt, as if she was telling your own life. yes, beyonce might be a triple-threat, but ashanti has got my hands down for being realistic. so what do you think?a was ashanti worth of being called the "princess of hiphop and rNb?" you decide......

I believe that she is. Finally someone here loves this singer as much as I do. I love all of her songs. She is all that! I like her new song where she kills her boyfriend for cheating. Her songs are inspirational. Beyonce is all that too. But I enjoy listening to women who have been through pain and trials. Keyshia Cole is another of my favorites. I enjoy all of her songs. It is good to know that there are women who have experienced pain as these stars have too. Yes, Ashanti should be considered the princess of hip hop..
