Unexpected Invitation - Have You Been Anywhere You Didn't Expect To Go Today?

My next door neighbours bought a new BBQ this afternoon and as they had a new toy wanted to try it out so just as I was debating what to do for dinner I got a text asking if I would like to go round. I enjoyed my couple of hours round there and also the food cooked well on the BBQ. So where have you been today that wasn't planned? Ellie :D

Sounds like a good afternoon Ellie! I used to be able to do things on the spur of the moment and enjoy it but nowadays I am far less able to do that. We ended up having a primeval fest this afternoon/evening as they were shown back to back on ITV3! lol What an exciting life I lead! xxx

I have to admit ellie that I did enjoy our afternoon but although they had been out all morning I felt a bit guilty keeping them indoors watching tv when the weather was so nice! lol It was worth it though. It's hard to find time to do things on a spur of the moment basis isn't it - especially as they get older and make plans of their own! xxx

Hi Mummymo, that sounds like fun to me, any activity that is all done together as a family I think is great. I haven't seen the programme though. I love spur of the moment things but must admit they don't happen often because as you know being a mum we tend to have to organise these days in advance eh! Ellie :D

I am quite lucky really in that I just plan around me and my four year old and the older ones 17, and 21 pretty much do there own thing and if they are there and want to tag along fine but if not they have a key if I'm off out somewhere. It was a lot harder when they were a few years younger though to organise anything. LOL Back to back TV, my son would have had to endure 3 hours of F1 if I hadn't gone next door bless him. Ellie :D

Last Sunday wasn't planned and we got a call from my hubby's friend from work and his family, asking us to join them for a bbq at a National Park. We had a lot of fun and thoroughly enjoyed it. I like those spur of the moment occasions.

Not today.....I drove home today from Wisconsin and did make a couple of unexpected stops. My little granddaughters birthday is wed. so I stopped to get a few little things. I made her a princess gift bag so found a few more little princess things for her...

Oh you are just so creative Jill your grandaughter will probably treasure them forever. My friend is and has knitted teddies and angel dolls for the children in the past and all of them have been kept whereas bought teddies passed onto charity shops. I hope she has a wonderful birthday. Ellie :D

I have not been anywhere today. I have been cooped up in the house all day. Actually I do not mind that I have been home all day. It is hot out and I hate the heat. I am glad that you had a good time hanging out with your neighbors and eating BBQ. I love BBQ.

Thanks lilbug, I had been out earlier and had just come back in to do to ready to watch the F1 and the text arrived so we all watched round there while her hubby cooked LOL. It was yummy. I am not one for the heat either but where we sat to eat was shaded so I didn't mind. Ellie :D

Today was another of those days where we got NOTHING done!
We went to the market this morning to stock up on veggies, and bumped into some friends. We decided to have a coffee together and they invited us back for an impromptu lunch. Of course, after a slap up lunch we didn't feel like doing anything at all so sat and chatted for ages before we realised what time it was and came haring back just in time for school!
