Beavers, Beavers & More Beavers...

Hello fellow Mounties, I picked Canada because I hear there's a lot of beavers in them there parts... And that's something along the lines of what cheeses me off here. There's a TV ad here in Oz which has a bunch of women going about their daily routine, carrying a beaver under their arm with them. Turns out the ad's for a feminine hygiene product! How far will these barely acceptable metaphors in media advertising go? Is there no limit? Are they next going to have guys wandering around with a 20-foot python hanging over their shoulder (or in Oz, 30-foot... or in Kenya, 150-foot)? I'm sincerely aghast at this apparent corrosion of community standards! So much for a "self-regulating" advertising industry. I'm hoping for the sake of humanity that this sort of thing is limited to Australia - something to do with it's position on the globe or something... Please tell me it's not so bad in other places around the world!
