I love mashed potatoes there my favorite. especially garlic and butter mashed potatoes those are my favorite.

i can hardly think of a potato dish that i don't LOVE !
around the pot roast, absorbing all the juices and turning brown.
smashed where there are pieces and it's not mashed so smooth.
mashed with a tub of philadelphia cream cheese/chives.
mashed with lots of garlic.
mashed with a packet of hidden valley dry mix.
potato salad with the skins left on. bacon, olives and hellmans.
red skinned that are thin sliced and gently fried with onions and green peppers.
i think of potatoes as real COMFORT food.

i think i fell in love with sprinkling hidden valley dry mix
on potatoes. it's the right mixture of herbs for me.
i'm Irish....so, potatoes were always in my household growing up.
easier to extend the food as it were.
if you try any of these mixtures, let me know which ones you like, too.

I dislike boiled potatoes except if they are made into
potato salad. I love baked, mashed, or fried very
much. good mashed potatoes are an art and so yummy with
good margarine melting on them. also love baked potatoes.
Home fries or hash browns with eggs over easy and sausage
and hot coffee, thats a great breakfast to me.

I like potatoes just about any way you can cook them, and I know a LOT of ways to cook them. The problem is that no matter how they're cooked I want butter on them and not just a smidge. So I usually slice them very thin and put just a little cooking oil in a skillet, cook them on low heat with a lid on til they're tender, then add chopped onion and bell pepper. Leave the lid off and turn every few minutes until the potatoes brown a little and the onion and pepper are tender. MMMMM Good! Believe it or not, I use less cooking oil to cook them this way than I would butter if I baked, mashed or boiled them.

Probably my favorite way to eat them is in german potato salad. I also like them chopped up and baked with honey, roasted garlic, worchestershire sauce, parsley, and a little oil to coat them. I'll eat them any which way, though. I love fresh mashed potatoes, too, with some butter and milk in it. Technically mashed potatoes are boiled, but who's counting.
