How old were you when you had your first crush?

I think I was grade 5 or 11 years old. Although when I was about 4 years old I had a friend whom I heard her say, "I got a crush on -----" and even if I wasn't sure what it meant and because we were like close friends I joined her. But officially I got my first crush when I was 11 years old. And he was our church pastor and married!

My first crush was on my childhood best friend. We would always hang out together, climbing trees and pretending we were either animals or different people from whatever television show was popular then (I was always the yellow ranger!). My second crush was when I was about seven on this man that rented a storage unit from the one that we worked at back in North Carolina. He would show my sister and me card tricks, and he would let us ride back to the office on the jetski which he would hook to the back of his truck. I cried when I found out he was married. Ah, childhood crushes!

I remember it like it was yesterday. I was 11 and there was this boy in church, his name was Paul and I thought he was the cutest thing on this planet. Go figure now at 36 I remember what he looked like and wonder what I saw in him and how much our taste changes as we get older.
