Hello wondericequeen,
It depends. If it is really an emergency, I will return the call immediately. If it is from someone that I am not familiar with or never heard of the number before, I might wait for awhile before returning the call. By the way I don't have a voice message for my fixed line and never listen to any voice messages in my cell phone. Poor me!

I only have voicemail in my cell phone, but no one really leaves me any voice message, so I guess I don't really have a chance to listen to my voicemail too!

Not only do I not return calls, but I also do not usually even listen to messages that people leave for me. My attitude is pretty much if they can't send me an e-mail they should drop a postcard in the mail. When I ran a business I made sure the phone was answered within three rings, even if I had to pick it up myself. But being retired I am not at anyone's beck and call anymore.

Right, I enjoy being totally out of reach from time to time. But since I am not retired (yet), I still have to be within reach!

I barely call anyone back on time. I prefer calling them back when I get the chance and sometimes I just do not feel like calling them back whenever they call. Sometimes the person just annoys me that much and I'd rather wait as long as I possibly can before calling them back. Usually this means they end up calling me back and I answer the phone in a frustrated tone because I can't believe they really call me that many times just for me to listen to them talk about nonsense stuff.

Like colecash I only return their calls if I'm in the mood already. Unless it's important I call right back but if it's not, well I just let it be for a while and wait until I'm in the mood to talk o that person or I'm in the mood to talk at all.

Isn't the point of having caller id and voice mail that you don't have to talk to people when you are not in the mood to?
No, I do not call people back right away. If it is an emergency I will. Otherwise, I will call them when I am good and ready.

Hi wondericequeen.
Your question about returning missed phone calls is interesting. It seems that most people have their own little "plan" on how they want to handle returning calls. I usually return my phone calls right away. I prefer not to procrastinate and put off doing tasks as that just makes me have more things to do later.
So, I return mine right off the bat to get it done quickly.
