Hi All. So I am pretty new to mylot and am thoroughly enjoying everyone's opinions and conversations. I have posted a few threads under specific interests, but for subjects that I don't think falls under any particular category, I've been choosing General Discussion. I think I have following the proper procedures, but I am just wondering what the benefits are of starting a new discussion as a General Discussion vs choosing a specific interest. Any opinions are welcome!

Hi! Welcome to myLot. Im not really sure what the difference is but I do remember the feeling of confusion that I had when I started too. I also dont think that there are any huge differences between the two but I would have to suggest that you pick a special interest for your discussion because I know of people who just hang out at a specific interest page so these people might not see your discussion. Putting it in a special interest category increases its visibility and might increase the number of potential people who will respond to your discussion. If you really cant find any interest category to put your discussion in why dont you just start your own? You know you will earn more that way because when you start a discussion and you post a photo for it it adds up to your earnings. Thats just a thought and goodluck to you! Have fun myLotting.^_^

Hi bjcyrix! Thank you for the welcome and your response. I will try to start topics into specific interests then - I supposed it can't hurt. I didn't know that I could create my own interest category. I am still learning my way around this site and helping myLotters like yourself are greatly appreciated!

Thanks bjcyrix! I have been having a great time posting around myLot. There are loads of interesting conversations to be had. I can't wait til I get a star - I don't know what number will be in it yet, but that's part of the surprise.

I'm starting to use more interests now. I'll observe and see if there's a difference. Thanks for your response, subha!
