to have more than 20 responses to a discussion I started.^_^
I have to say that I had a bit of envy to those people who always have more than 10 responses in every discussions they start. I only had 1 discussion(before the one that prompted me to start this) that has more than 10 responses and all the rest were between 1 and 10. The last discussion I started before this had more than 50 responses....50!! I never expected it to get that many. I am grateful to all of you and I really do appreciate it.^_^
Now that Ive experienced it I dont envy those people that much. I never thought that having those many responses could be so overwhelming and I salute those of you who comment on all those responses. I do comment on all responses that I get. I also did with that discussion and it took most of my day.
Having many responses is great and its also good to respond to others. Ill always have fun in myLot no matter how I go about it. Have fun myLotting to all of you and thank you!^_^

hello buddy,
well it is indeed great that you got so many responses and also the fact that you are so active that you actually respond to all the responses that you get. so i think that it is indeed great to respond to your discussions. i really do not feel left out cause you respond really well and that too not a occasional i or hell or take care kind of stuff.
but true substantial discussion in true sense.
then about the post kind of thing ...... i have never got that kind of response in any of my posts .....well i too respond to all the response that i get.
well then i think that my discussions were not that innovative or literary way thought provoking.
so it is my turn to envy you..... hey just joking. but to add to that i will say that it is very good to such lively people here in my lot.
and how is your assignments going on.... you said that you have holidays till tuesday perhaps.... ???

My assignments are still not done, thanks for asking and for reminding me.LOL I will do them tomorrow and yes, I still dont have class until tomorrow. Thanks for the response.^_^

So...? Be careful what you wish for is a good thing to remember? LOL It is harder to respond to lots and lots of posts. But still, doesn't it feel better? Especially better than having NO reponses!

LOL. I must remember that from time to time. Thanks for reminding me. Im glad that I have now been on both sides of the coin. Ive always had No responses to my discussions and my friend who is my only referral would sometimes 'fish me out'.^_^ Thank you so much for the response!^_^

I think it's only happened to me twice in a year and a half. One was even flagged several times, so I was getting responses, but I couldn't respond back. I think it had 50+ (of course it was about abortion and adoption ); that one was around the time I started. The last one I did about a month ago, asking everyone what other sites they found to earn money online. I still get responses once in a while, and some of the ideas were quite good (of course, I'm now signed up for 10 new websites...like I needed any MORE junk mail!) I'll have to rack my brains tonight for something else.

I think because it was a controversial subject (I'm of the opinion that if abortion-rights activists want all these babies born, they oughta buck up and adopt one here in the US, rather than going outside of the country to adopt!), too many people had heated arguments for and against the subject. MyLot didn't object to my starting it, since it was a valid discussion though. There was no swearing on my part!

sorry to hear about the flagging. How can a discussion be flagged several times? I thought it only needs one to be deleted the next day..?
Congratulations to you too in having all those responses!^_^ As for paid sites yeah I find myself signing up for new ones and Ive signed up to many of them already!LOL. Thanks for the response.^_^

That must've been a very interesting discussion to have yeilded you over 50 responses.. Some members here in this site are simply just amazing on how they can manage to accumulate such posts in their discussions.
I really don't know if I have some that have reached over 50 though. I just always want to reply to every response that I get in my discussions or in any that I have participated in.
Well, salutations on that achievement of yours

Me too, I rather be just one among the many respondents who have participated on a discussion than be the one who started the discussion. I do realize that for every response that would be given to the discussion that I would initiate, I find it my obligation to recognize them with replies and I would often get initmidated when I there have been more responses that I haven't replied to.
When being just among those who participated in a particular discussion, I would only be entertaining the one who replies on my responses. When I'm the one who has to respond to every comment, being the initiator of the discussion, and certain comments are alike, I often find it challenging to paraphrase the same reply that I have given to previous responses that I have already read.
That's just that way I see it now.. ^_^

You have a point there. Never really thought about it but I just respond to discussions just because I think that there are lots of people who start them and would actually prefer to start one than to respond to others'. So if all people felt that way who would be the one to respond to all of them?So I guess its better just to even it out.^_^

Nice, 30+ is a lot. 20 would have been the maximum before the 50 one but it fell short of just one response. So the last count was 19 responses.LOL Its ok. I dont mind. It seems that you've been posting like crazy. You've gotten past my number of posts already. Congratulations on your success too and thanks for responding!^_^

You mean if myLot pays me for every response on here and for all those 50 responses? Sadly, no. I only get paid once for it. I mean if you start a discussion and someone responds to it that discussion will be added to your number of posts and you get paid for it. If someone else responds to that same discussion I wont get paid that time. BUT I do get paid for all of my comments to all those responses. Like this comment Im giving you. Thank you so much for the response!^_^

its a great feeling when at last it happens
to you, isn't it? I felt the same way when I got
forty to one of my discussions instead of just
six or eight or ten. Still most are just ten or
twenty but still I am so grateful for every
response from all my friends. I try to answer
them but do get bogged down at times. I also have
fun at mylot in spite of my shingles. lol.

Woohoo for more than 50 responses !!! Way to go!! It does look like the average number of responses to a discussion is 20. I think that is pretty good, too.
I started a discussion last week and last I checked I have had only 2 responses....that's cool with me. At least I got them.
I am curious, though, which of your discussions got all those many responses. If you had mentioned it in the responses here, I may have overlooked it.
Keep up the good work! :-)

LOL! yeah any response is better than no response at all. Ive been there too thats why I appreciate all of the responses that I get. My last 3 started discussions are doing good in responses, they have at least 15+. All the others are just 1-10. I dont complain because a response is still a response.^_^ The discussion that had over 50 responses was about my first payout. I only expected 2 responses there and 3 at most because I was hoping that maybe some kind hearted people would still respond to a very cliched overused topic. Imagine my surprise.^_^ Thanks for responding!^_^

I also felt that way before! :) But currently I am happy because I had 29 responses in one of my discussions all in roughly more that 24 hours! :) (however, it is still not close enough to your 50)
I am still dreaming of being on top discussion or maybe even the myLot digest.. Congratulations to you! I know you have been working so hard to get those responses coming! :D

I SO know the feeling! Im still hoping to maybe someday get to the Digest. I dont mind if Im not on the Top Discussions page as long as it makes it to the myLot Digest. I can finally archive a myLot Digest in my Gmail account.^_^ Hey, 29 responses in under 24 hours is really not bad at all. Congratulations to you too and thank you so much for responding!^_^

Typing that so many responses just takes a toll on my hands. Even is I still wanna type and respond some more my hands are just giving up. Thanks for responding!^_^

Yay!! I did it!...I know its a bit late.LOL! But I just got around to comment back and reply to others comments. My Gmail account got a temporary error502. Its all fixed now. I didnt know I got in if it wasnt for a friend who told me. When I was able to log in my account I really saw it for myself and its now sitting on my Archives. It was really a great feeling to get a wish come true! Thanks for all your support!

Wow - Congratulations bjcyrix! I'm glad to hear that it is possible to even reach that many responses. I can only imagine how much work it would take to respond to each and every response. I am quite new to the site and have only been able to receive a maximum of two responses to my discussions, which (to me, anyway) are interesting topics. Hehe! However, it hasn't deterred me because I love just conversing about things. I wish you the best of luck in the future and will root for you to achieve your next great discussion!

Hi! Welcome to myLot again.^_^ Its such a coincidence because I just finished responding to a discussion you started. It was about the difference between starting a discussion in the General or the Special Interest category I think.^_^ Anyways, yeah it is possible to have more than 50 and I know that there are discussions that even have more than 100 responses. In exploring the site you'll see some of them. MyLot has more than 132,000 members after all and counting. Goodluck to you and thanks for responding.^_^

Yes, it is indeed very fulfilling to get more than 20 responses to your discussions. Honestly, I gained about 48 responses on a discussion I've started way back, and I admit that, I rejoiced! It's such a great feeling to harbor such a number of responses, and I'm so happy to have experienced such a thrilling momentum. Before, like you, I've envied those top discussion posters who get thousands of responses, but I'm very happy to have gotten almost 50 responses, and I appreciate it most. Well, shouldn't there be a thanksgiving party, or somewhat a group here in mylot where the top posters here in MyLot? *laughs*

hi. Congratulations on your great discussion. More than fifty responses - it's hard to reach that amount. I am responder more then starter when it comes to discussions. I have started some discussions in the past, but I gave up. I have no ideas and sometimes I forget about adding comments.
Luckily, mylot is a great place to responders only, like me;). It is a lot of interesting topic here. So I don't worry when I don't start any discussion month by month.
have a nice day, jazgottt.

Hi! We actually do the same thing. I dont start that many discussions either. I mostly respond to others' discussions. I only start my own whenever I need to know something and ask the opinions of others or something. I dont try hard and really think about discussions to start. I just start them as the idea comes especially when its important for me to start it. Thanks for responding!^_^

hehe I just don't start discussions. But everybody does it from time to time, so I want to do it too:). And it is something refreshing to make own discussion instead responding to other people discussions. But I have no ideas and no things to ask about.
bye, jazgottt.

Well bjcyrix i have never myself got more than 10 response to any of my discussions. More than envy i have the feeling that what is it that makes a discussion fetch so many responses. I sometimes feel bad that my discussions don't fetch any responses. But then i think maybe they are not good enough to fetch them.
Well congrats to you.
