I was recently advised to try taking melatonin pills to help me get to sleep. I'm having a really rough time falling and staying asleep and am generally sleeping every other day now. I might catch 2 or 3 hours a night. Someone said these pills will naturally regulate my sleep. I've been taking them for 4 days now but it only helped the first day. I am not really keep on taking these pills because I'm very anti-medication, but I am getting desperate to get back to a regular sleeping pattern. I was open to try these pills because they are supposed to be a natural remedy, it's a natural hormone our body produces to help us sleep. What are your thoughts and experiences taking melatonin?

I don't have to tell you that you have a problem and I do hope that you solve this problem very soon. If you do not have a problem with it, like you don't hallucinate or something like that then maybe you just don't need to sleep so much. Someone told me that a human being can make do with two hours of sleep everyday and your three hours sleep is certainly within that figure. The basic problem with lack of sleep is psychological and involves our mental apparatus.

I'm still having trouble sleeping and I've been taking the melatonin for the past week now. I'm starting to sleep a little earlier and not fluctuating as much as I was for the last month. I hope this a good sign. I totally agree about the problem being psychological. I've been under a lot of stress lately. Thanks for your response!

I take it every night because it is a natural substance. I'm not susre how much it is helping me at this point, I think it's kind of a habit, but if I didn't take something I don't think I would ever get to sleep.

Really!? How long have you been taking it for? I'm just curious how long I should continue taking it before I give up.
