myLot search function

Have you ever searched for a discussion topic on myLot and found no previous topics, only to start a new discussion and after hitting the "Start Discussion" button find that the topic has already been posted by other users? It just happened to me and it's frustrating! I checked my spelling over too and tried different spelling variations before starting the new topic. I wonder what I did wrong?
