Does your cat like to have a walk with you?

People know that dogs like to have a walk with their masters. But how about cats? Do they like to go out to have a walk? My cat never likes it. Actually he felt so scared when I wanted to have a walk with him. I don't know why. But obviously cats and dogs are quite different in this aspect. Cats like to go out by themselves, but not with their masters.

yeah, its so difficult to ask our cats to walk with us. it cause, in my opinion, ccats more self helping than dog. she doesn't need any specific time or companion if wants to walk around
my sheilla also difficult to walk together with me. the only time she will walk around me if its time to feeding her

well, cats are independent creatues unlike dogs where you have to be the "leader of the pack" and lead them in general. thats why cats really dont need much attention and can be left alone for hours without getting anxious unlike dogs. dogs require attention and exercise too. cats dont need much exercise. so naturally my cat doesnt like to take a walk. LOL. he likes to roam by himself.

Hi youless! I don't have cats either. I only have dogs and they have their special walks with us. But I do observed that cats don;t have those walks. Usually they are carried by their owners and sometimes, they do go off on their own. I have never seen a cat walking beside her owner in the streets, usually they are carried.
Take care and God bless!

My cat looks outside all of the time, but gets scared when we carry him outside. More than once he has hidden beneath the shed and we have had to coax him out.
My friend's cat, who they sometimes allow to go outside and investigate, once followed us to the park when we were walking her dogs. We turned around and saw him slowly sneaking after us, but he would not let us catch him. He followed us home, at least.
I guess it depends on the cat, and how they react to being outdoors.

Cats are like that, though. They love attention, but at the same time, prove to be very independent animals. Even around the house, the cat determines whether or not he or she wants attention (while a dog generally loves every bit of what he or she gets).

My cat is an indoor cat but she tries to get outside every time we open the door. She never wanders very far. She just likes to lay out in the front yard and play in the bushes. I am sure she would walk with me if she was on some kind of leash but I would never be able to get it on her. She just likes laying outside so I am okay with that as long as she does not go to far from the yard.

Depends on the cat. Our male likes the harness and will walk with you. Our female doesn't like the harness so she just lets you carry her until you get to the park and she wanders arounda bit.

I have had cats that would follow me on a walk, but not on a leash. All of my cats come running when I drive up in the car. They want to be with me in the car, but not if it is driving. Cats want to decide what they do all by themselves.

My cat likes to be on special leash with me in the garden.
She is not walking, she is just seating or jumping over the grass. We do it only for about 10 minutes per day.
I would try to walk her over on the street.

My cat won't go out for a walk with me, but she follows me around just inside the house a lot. lol She never wants to go outside though. I think she is a little bit afraid to go out the door. Our old dog, on the other hand, couldn't ever wait to get outside and take a walk around the block.

I have not tried also walking and bringing our cat outside, she prefers to explore the world alone..LOL!She will be gone and will just arrive anytime she wants...I agree with you, Dog and cat are extremely opposite, when the dog will see us walking and going somewhere, they tend to follow and I remember our dog before, when we don't want to bring him, he will be running as fast as he could to catch us!

I dont think my cat would think too much of it. He probably should go out though he needs the exercise. With my luck he'd get out of the leash and I'd have to chase him all over the neighborhood.
