All the way to Mordor for nothing?

Recently I saw a funny movie about the more reasonable way of destroying the one cursed ring that Frodo had from his Uncle Bilbo. This was something like it:
The fellowship of the ring (without hobbits and Gandalf) went directly in the front of the Mordor gates and done some show to make Sauron's eye look at them in anger. Then Gandalf and the hobbits flew over the other side on the giant eagles to this big volcano (sorry, I don't remember mane of this mountain) and tossed the ring inside.
It was quite funny, couse I don't see a reason why they couldn't done this in the first way instead of walking all this long way and losing their friends. What do you think about it?

I loved that short video also!
People who just watched the movies probably do come out wondering why the big eagles didn't just take Gandolf and the hobbits over Mount Doom and toss the ring in. However, in the books the lead characters learn things and have experiences that they couldn't have any other way.
The easy way may be tempting, but it's not always the way that is best. Taking the easy way usually robs us of the real reason to do things in the first place.

You are right but you can't deny that it would work and at the start had even better chance of successing than the original plan, hehe.
