How early does your day begin?

Now that you're a stay at home mom, what time does your day usually begin? Does it differ from when you were working (if applicable)? I used to work in Finance and at one point worked at 5am - 1:30pm shift, then it rotated to 7am - 3:30pm. Now that I'm a stay at home mom my day usually begins around 8 or 9am which is nice. However, I am up at all hours of the night since my infant is not yet sleeping through the night, but still, it's a nice change of pace.

I am new at being a stay at home mom. I just had my baby May 6th. I don't have a schedule anymore...I am use to going to work from 7am to 3:30pm monday-friday...now I'm working 24/7. :) I wouldn't trade it for the world cause I love caring for my lil boy. I'm hoping that the sleeping schedule gets better cause I am up every 2-3 hours during the night. It's taking a toll on me and my body. Since I'm up all the time I am eatting ALOT more and I'm just so tried all the time. I have no energy to scrub my house or do anything else. I heard it's suppose to get better soon though. He had colic pretty bad and me and him use to cry all the time....I couldn't stand for him to be in that pain and I couldn't help me. I have changed his formula and he seems to be doing alot better. Day cares and babysitters are sooooooooo expensive!! I don't trust anyone watching over my baby anyways but if I was to send him to a day care or babysitter I would be working just for that. But back to the question...my day never ends. :)

Hello, I understand what you mean! Enjoy being a mom and spending that time with your little one - it will get easier! My two girls who are now 3 & 4 slept through the night pretty well when they were young, but my son who is now 6 months still doesn't sleep through the night and wakes about every 2 hours - it's crazy! But I know one day he will sleep through the night! I totally understand what you mean about daycares and babysitters - I had my two girls in daycares and had my fair share of bad experiences...once I had my son I made the decision to stay at home with all three! I love it and I'm so glad I made that decision to spend with my kids!

My day normally begins around 5:30am I get my fiance up for work and i dont even think about laying back down because no sooner do i get under those covers to get some more shut eye the almost 3 month old is awake and ready to play and then ready for a bottle by the time she is done or not shortly afterwards my 2 year old is awake. My day ends normally around 10:00pm only because thats when i go lay down with the baby and the toddler and get them to sleep. normally i fall asleep around the same time. and of course the littlest one wakes up once in the middle of the night. Like they say a mothers work is never done. its more then a full time job its like a full and part time all at once. with no vacation :) but i dont mind. i love my kids with all my heart and would be lost without them.

My day starts pretty early and it's different everyday. I have an infant so I get up a couple times during the night. Usually it's 1am, 3am, 5am, and 7am. He usually goes to sleep around 10pm. I can't wait until he sleeps through the night...or only gets up 1 time. I try and put a pacifer in his mouth so he'll go back to sleep and that doesn't work. Around 5am he woke up and only drank 1oz and then went back to sleep. That was a waste of a bottle :) I'm going to start and make only 2oz bottles for the night bottles since thats usually all he drinks and if he wants more I can always make another bottle..it would save on formula :) I agree with you...I wouldn't trade mine for the world. He's my prince :) I'm really going to be busy when I have mine next one in about 2-3 years.

Right now my husband gets up at 6:30 for work so I usually get up with him and while he is getting ready I help out by making his lunch and getting him something for breakfast. He is usually out of the door by 7, so I go back to sleep until 8 when I have to feed the baby bird. If my son isn't up yet, I usually just go back to bed until whenever he decides to get up which could be as late as 11.

Wow - that's great your son sleeps in until 11 sometimes! That is really late! And how nice of you to make his lunch and make his breakfast! What a nice wife!

I try to get up about 5:30 in the morning so that I can get my shower and have some me time or cleaning time before everyone else gets up. My day ends sometime after 9pm and before midnight. I have an awful habit of sleeping on the couch if my hubby isn't home or taking one of the sleeping toddlers into bed with me. I don't like to be in the dark by myself so I try to have someone with me in the bed.

I don't get up early in the morning. Most of my days don't start until around 10am or 12 that day. Then the usual, getting ready for the day and checking out what is going on in my lot. Then i'm up most of the day and don't go to bed until about 12am or between 1-3am in the morning. Then start all over again the next day.
