The Missing Tweezers.

What have you missed placed lately? - tweezers

I put them down somewhere, and for two weeks I couldn't find them for the life of me. I searched the house over, looked into the pen holder, tore apart my desk drawers, took the cushions off the coach, and turned the bathrooms inside out. I looked between my car seats, in my cup holders, in the seat, behind the seat, in my husbands work truck toolboxes, the dang shed, under my couch, on, under and around my bed, in my closet, in all my pants pockets, hell even in my damn coat that has not been worn in over 2 month looking for these stupid tweezers. But... to no avail. So I broke down Saturday and went to Walgreens to get a new pair. I get home Saturday night and start pulling things out of my pocket setting them on my ironing board in the utility room; ... and that's where I found my bloody tweezers sitting right on top, in plain view…. Where I had walked past while trying to find them 1000 times….. What have you lost lately…? And no marble stories as I already know you don’t have anymore to lose!

Hahahahahaha... you want to know what I've lost lately? Ok, but you asked for it! My tweezers (hehehe), my toenail clippers, my bottle of water, my backpack, my wagon, my wonderful spray nozzle for my hose, my hammer, my hairclips, all my extra extension cords, my matrix telephone, my fabulous pry bar with one end perfect for tamping down dirt around a post, my beautiful purple rope, the 2 chimney brushes a neighbor gave me, the container of smart balance that I know I bought the other day... and the list goes on, but I'll spare myself the effort of trying to remember it all. But in my opinion there is not too much that is worse than systematically tearing the house apart from one end to the other looking for something that I have only recently held in my hands! And it's even worse when I deliberately put it in the place that I now can not find it in, rather than having absent-mindedly laid it there. Most of those items turned up later and some of them are gone forever, but it is actually helping me to get more organized! You know... a place for everything and everything in it's place... I love that!!! I have a funny story though. A friend of mine had just ended a call with someone as she was standing in front of her freezer. She put the phone down (in the freezer!) to dig out the item she was looking for and closed the freezer, forgetting all about her poor phone sitting there. Later when she went looking for her phone she never found it. It wasn't until the next time she went to the freezer and there it was. She had had to stand in one place using a stationary phone the whole time it was gone. I've also lost a bit of weight lately and a lot of other excess baggage of the emotional kind. Life is good! What's for dinner?

What I lost lately was my housekeys. I was dressed and ready to meet my friend Nelda out in front of our apartment complex. but when I went to lock the front door i could not find my housekeys. I looked all through my handbag and no keys. so I went back in my bedroon and searc hed the top of my bed as I had set my purse there for amoment. No keys then I saw something shiny on the floor and behold there were my house keys. they had evidently fallen out of my purse when I had put my purse on the floor.

Keys are extremely aggravating to lose Hatley as when you find them missing is usually the time you are about to walk out the door and everything else comes to a stand still until the blasted things are found.

You know why it's always the last place you look right? Cause you stop looking!! I have done that a million times though looked for something everywhere only to find it right in front of me lol. I was making a ring the other day (new hobby lol) and I had set it down to do something in the kitchen, when I went back to it I could not find it for the life of me. Apperantly I had it in my hand still (could have sworn I put it down) and my daughter found it the next day in the freezer. I keep the coffee in there and when I went to make a pot of coffee I left it sitting right there lol.

That has just happened to me my favorite tweezers I can't find. Right now and i have looked for them; I haven't torn up the house though. I had a second pair for moments like this. I do remember where i set them down at but they were not there when i went looking for them. They might be right in my face and I overlooked them more than once. But because i had another pair; i have not went crazy looking for them. That does happen from time to time. When you look for things they are right in your face.

I always do that, I loose something and then think that I am never going to find it and as soon as I buy a new one then it appears. The most recent thing that I lost was my metro pass and I thought that I had left it at the Metro Ticket Shop and went back to try and find it, but it wasn't there. I was about to go out and get a replacement for £15 and then I found it in my bag.

I lost my large sized nail clippers a couple of months ago. I have about 4 sets of small ones and they all belong somewhere. The big ones go in a jar on the kitchen shelf with other "stuff" because it's handy. Things like nail files, cuticle scissors etc. It's right next to the pen jar. I put these sorts of things back religiously so I don't have to go looking for them. They don't necessarily get put back as soon as I've finished with them however. I can put my hands on a small set of nail clippers but not the big ones. With every new day I become slightly more disorganised. Have you seen my large set of nail clippers??

LOL Isn't it always the way honey - they refuse to appear before a new one has been obtained! lol It is usually my glasses but yesterday morning it was my book! I looked all over the bedroom where I had been reading it the night before got the kids and the other half in on the search - they checked under the bed and behind the bedside cabinet - we even took the duvet out of its cover but no book! When I came downstairs there it was beside my chair - I must have taken it down first thing in the morning but I have no recollection of doing so! lol xxx

You have been to enough of my discussions to know that just the thought of losing my tweezers would send me into a panic. I'm very particular about my products especially important things like tweezers for the upkeep of my threaded eyebrows. :) Anyway, I lost a friggin soap mold the other day. I have a ton of them but this particular one is a block mold and my favorite one. Anyway, I must have passed by it a million times. It's usually in my soap cabinet but for some reason, I set it down on my dresser. I tore up my house and my storage unit looking for the darn thing and it was in front of my face the whole time. Ughhh!

I only keep a couple around. But of course the tweezers I use are 20 dollars a pop. So I really freak if I lose them. But you can't beat a Tweezerman tweezer. Sheesh, I really love beauty products. LOL Now get to tweezing that jungle- Angel girl!!

Coincidentally I lost our bathroom tweezers. They turned up in our daughters room. Funny that. But the thing that I lost most recently was a cufflink. I have a number of these little devils, but some are more favourite than others. However, I have a pair that have a little silver chequer effect on them and that I like to wear. I last wore them at my 50th birthday dinner in March. I know that I took them out of my shirt when I took it off, but one disappeared. I searched high and low in the bedroom. Even lifting the mattress to see if it had somehow slid in between there and the divan, but nothing was found. Then just the other day, in the bottom a of a dirty washing basket containing underclothes what should I see? My missing cufflink! Now, what did I do with its partner?

Every Handsome and well dressed Fish must have matching cuff links. My husband has a couple of sets and I hate when he has to wear them, I am terrified he will lose one. His are family heirlooms that I want my boys to have someday LMAO... I know just like a woman to keep things put up for someone else. They are my husbands of course... I would just hate it however if they got lost.

I know exactly where my tweezers are. Right next to the bits of food I'm feeding Christopher Robin. Read here for his story: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1551034.aspx and http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1551824.aspx I'm blogging the adventure too - see my profile!

Angel..isn't just like tweezers to hide from someone? They do it to me all the time..LOL I've been pretty lucky with not having this problem..my daughter lost her keys to her car last week and they looked everywhere so since nothing they figured the babies threw them in the trash..well yesterday their car alarm went off and a person was outside with thir keys saying they had them for a few days and decided to drive around and see whose car goes off..ok They want to know how lost keys wound up down the street? All they did was drive home and go into the house.

Boy that sure is suspect. Think one of the kids had them outside? Or maybe a pet took off with them? Odd for a fact Rose.

They have a 2 yr old and a 8 month old and they don't go outside without the parents in the front yard and their Dog is a huge Rottweiler who is NEVER allowed outside the front. We thought maybe the keys were in the lap and fell out on the ground but how did they get lost up the street?? So the mystery is still there.

That is just one of the mysteries in life. I sometimes think that some things turn invisible until you purchase a replacement and then they show up again right out in the open. I will figure out the truth to this dilemma just as soon as I figure out what happens to that matching sock in the dryer.

I know what you mean....I hate random hairs and one thing I notice is if I am having a stressful day by the end of the day the ones that are hard to pluck are standing at attention....maybe the stress makes them rapidly grow LOL That sounds attractive doesn't it? haha

I also misplaced my tweezers about a week ago. I remember I just place it in my dresser in my room but when I was about to use it, it wasn't there. Great. I was really in need to pluck out my stray eyebrows but I ended up shaving it instead with that little thing intended to shave our eyebrows. Then one morning, out of the blue I remembered bringing it along with me during one of our out-of-town trips and I left in in my bag. LOL. Aside from that, I don't remember anything that I misplaced this past few days.

LMAO I am beginning to see lost tweezers is a common trait we woman have :))))
10 Jun 08
I think it's the tweezers that are to blame. I've found that tweezer have some strange mystic power, they manage to levitate and move all over the house. Mine are the same. I possibly have about 5 tweezers but can only find 1 pair. Tweezers are the hardest things to keep hold of, i've never in my life lost any object as much as i've lost those things.
