Paid to read emails

Recently I joined one of these and am a little skeptical about it. I understand that the whole thing is an advertisement and you get paid to look at them and paid even more if you sign up with them. Also, the one I joined has cash surveys...haven't checked that out yet. So how many of you do this and do you think it is worth the time or the effort?
