I want to discuss remakes. Movie remakes. Are you for or against them?

Me personally, if it's well done then okay. But, I'm more of a tradionalist. I usually like the original better. There's a few remakes I like. I like the remade Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I thought it was good. Not better than the first one, but still pretty good.

i got nothing against movie remakes. i think it's a challenge to the new version so it has to be good, and i'm up to see anything like that to compare.
in particular, i like the "Love Affair" with warren beatty and annette bening, a remake of the classic film "An Affair to Remember", which is even the theme-inspiration of the movie "Sleepless in Seattle". i enjoy them :)

I find it wierd but, most movie genres I don't mind remakes but if it comes to horror movies I don't like it. Rob Zombie is remaking Halloween. I'm trying to keep an open mind because I like Rob Zombie. But it will be hard. Halloween is a classic.

i like remakes sometimes cuz then you know it will be refreshed and new actors will be playing it. sometimes they make it even better. Like the exorcist , they did some very subtle changes but the overall picture quality was better.

I think usually the older versions are better. War of the Worlds was an interesting remake. I too liked the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It seems like every movie over this summer was a remake or spin off of tv: The Dukes of Hazard, The Poseidon Adventure, the Longest Yard, The Bad News Bears. I could keep going. Most of them weren't worth watching.

I know! And I tell my husband that hollywood needs some originality. He disagrees. He likes remakes because (as he says) it brings fresh faces and then new fans to the genre. I just want to watch something new, not a remake.
