I'll admit I'm not the hippest person on myLot or anywhere else when it comes to what the younger generation is doing but apparently most of the media knew what the gesture between Barack and Michelle was last Tuesday night after he had clinched the Democratic Presidential nomination - it's called a "fist bump" and I understand Charlie Sheen and Michael Jordan have done it on a commercial, or that's what I heard on TV anyway, can't prove it by me. Apparently everyone in the media isn't so sure what it was or what it meant:
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/06/07/foxnews-ed-hill-on-obamas-fist-bump-a-terrorist-fist-jab/
Here's what Fox News' E/D. Hill said - "A fist bump? A pound? A terrorist fist jab? The gesture everyone seems to interpret differently."
This may be a liberal site but I sure wasn't going to find it on Fox's website, now was I? Anyway, is this totally ridiculous or what? Can anyone take those people at Fox seriously at all? I know, some will say this was one person but look at how many on that network have made absolute a$$e$ of themselves. It's going to be a fun political season and I think this network might help the "enemy" more than their own guy!

Does any liberal take Fox seriously?? LOL
I don't watch much of Fox and for good reason...they are idiots and yes they seem to help out the enemy which is weird. Maybe they get better ratings, I don't know.

I like Keith myself but I'm usually at work when he is on...Even late so I don't get to watch as often as I'd like.

Fox (aka Faux) News should be ashamed of themselves!! I've seen this gesture so often, it's not funny! And, there's NOTHING sinister about it. They just want to plant that seed in the minds of their mindless followers (many of which are isolated in lesser educated parts of this country, despite the haughty attitudes of their handlers) knowing that the ignorant will buy it hook, line and sinker. I have a friend in Tennessee whose family says that "good" Christians aren't to watch anything BUT Fox, that anyone who does isn't a good Christian. I can only imagine how the Almighty feels about that one!

How exactly would someone define a "bad" Christian? I am a good Chrisitan from Tennessee, and I watch a lot of different news networks, liberal and conservative. I like to know what they are all saying, because otherwise I'm not getting a well rounded view of world events. The fist bump thing didn't strike me one bit as being anything more than a different version of the high-five you see people doing to celebrate victories. And they certainly had reason to celebrate.

All news networks slant the news their way. If you don't think CNN or MSNBC don't do it, you are sadly mistaken.
I have literally (and I don't use the word lightly) seen the same stories filtered thru many news organizations. I could see the editing of it, and this was a NON-political story.

What do you mean a "non-political" story? She was talking about a gesture between Barack and Michelle Obama after he clinched the nomination and asked if it was a terrorist fist jab - what was it if it wasn't political? Even if the other networks were dramatically slanted to the left that still wouldn't come close to justifying some of the garbage the Fox gang has been spewing lately.

This is a joke right? FOX news cant be serious! Im sorry to be so sarcastic, but there are so many important issues both small and large that couldve been addressed rather than "FIST BUMPS". I was laughing so hard when I heard them call it a "TERRORIST FIST JAB". Its hard to think of it in a terrorist manner when my teenage daughter and her friends have been doing it for a while now. I think that the media has gone over the edge to create drama on many occassions. What is sad is that someone could be targeted because of this ridiculousness. THink about it. Someone sees someone making this gesture. Because the news reported it as terroristic, they attack this person. Yes I am reaching a bit. Stranger things HAVE happened. What will be next, I cant imagine. dl

It just shows how in touch Fox News is with today's society and younger generation. We should add Howie Mandel to the terrorist watch list as he always fist bumps instead of a hand shake (he's a germaphobe I've heard). I have to admit I been trying to tune in to Fox News periodically to try and hear all sides of the argument but its very eerie how every time Obama is mentioned he is alluded to in some shady way. I'm starting to understand why so many people from the right are so skeptical of him.

Yeah, you don't have to have a working brain to vote.

I guess Howie Mandel is a terrorist, too. And the Wonder Twins! They do the terrorist fist jab, too. Brother!

Fox News was actually just quoting a blog from Human Events (A conservative blogging site). Now granted, she probably should have edited the comments and left that out, you can't fault Fox News for reporting on something that someone else has also said.

I agree with Annie. If they were actually "reporting" that statement, they'd have mentioned who had said that. They didn't - they simply allowed that phrase to hang there to fester in the minds of the many who believe anything and everything said on Fox News, if not on television in general.
