Light or Heavy Baggage?

I try not to pack too much but I usually do. I never anticipate a hotel room having a working hair dryer because they sometimes don't and I like to use my regular toilerties. Somehow I still manage to travel prett light but it does irk me to carry something around on vacation that I don't use.

I have a tendency to pack way too much when I go on trips. I always think that I'm going to pack just the necessities, but then when I actually start packing, then I keep finding more and more things that I feel like I should bring along. I usually start packing pretty far in advance before trips, so that may be part of the reason I pack so much. I think I leave myself with too much time to think of more things to pack. More recently though, I think I've gotten better at packing a little lighter. I try to take into account things like whether the hotel will have a hair dryer, and things like that so that I don't pack things that I don't need. I would prefer to pack lighter, but I still sometimes pack a little too much!

I tend to take extended trips, of up to half a year, so I tend to pack heavy bags. Sadly I come home woth lots of souveniers that make my bags even heavier, and then I end up paying for the blasted things, when I go through customs.

I hate to carry heavy bulk when going to travel. I prefer to bring only those necessities in my luggage. It will be extremely inconvenient if lacking any of those essential items like chargers of cellphone and camera. So I always make sure not to miss any item by list checking a day before leaving home. When younger I tended to travel with light but came back with bulky luggage. Nowadays whenever I go for traveling I will buy only those unique and handy souvenirs only.
