When I visited my cousin for the first time, I was so interested in their beliefs. My cousin is living in a province. One of their beliefs that I find interest is when somebody leaves their dinner table you should turn your plates once. Everytime someone leaves the table, you should turn your plate once. I asked them why they would do that and to my surprise, their mother told me that she had forgotten why, but couldn't stop herself from doing it since she applied this practice ever since she was young and she also taught all her children to turn their plates every time someone would leave the table. I just gave a big and loud laugh, and turned my plate once. What can I say, it's their belief.. How bout you, have you encountered of a family or does your family have one strange practice?

This is quite funny and fascinating so I had a look up to see if I can find it, and maybe find out the reasoning behind it, this is what I found "My mother would instruct my sister and I to turn our plates whenever someone left the table during a meal. By turning our plates, we were ensuring that the individual who left the table would arrive at their destination safely. Failure to 'turn your plate' would prove an ultimate demise for the person who just left." Or "If someone leave the dinner table, turn your plate around or you will not have food soon." both are Filipino Superstitions. I love folklore and superstitions like this.
