Though, the debate on if it is historically acurate (I think it came pretty close from the research I have done myself) but I think it is a very good genre refurbisher of this old movie classic. And I am very much in love with Johnny Depp. He's my muse!

hum...i am not sure if it is.but so far the best movie about pirates is the Pirates of the Caribbean.do u think so?

Well it my not be the most acurate movie based on pirates but I do think it is by far one of the most entertaining.

I can't say its definitively the best..but it is the only one I've seen or can remeber seeing, so in that sense its the best known. What other blockbuster pirate movies are there really to compare??
