I heard on the news yesterday that their is a huge recall on fresh tomatoes due to samonilla outbreaks and at least 150 people so far have became ill. This is so scary, food is not safe anymore. Resturants have ceased serving fresh tomatoes at resturants because of the recall on tomatoes.

Wow that is strange I have never heard of it before since I live far out in Asia, probably away from you by far. Food does get scary sometimes but hey thin? But hey think about it this way How many times have you eaten something or taken a bite out of a apple? Did you fall ill? Just remember this and you should gain some more confidence.

I don't think there are many cases of salmonella poisoning in Asia. Thank you for responding.

Yeah, this is all over the news and I even saw some other discussions here on this site about it. It's not even safe to be a vegetarian now. I remember all the people who saying that they don't eat eggs with runny yolks because of salmonella. Well, you can get it from eating vegetables now. I don't think this was ever a problem in the past and wonder why it's a problem now?
I don't like fresh tomatoes, but they are so healthy. I liked the ones on the vines and I hear those are safe. But, I also eat a lot of spinach and there's been problems there, too.

I think the rise for the salmonella in vegatables now is due to the fertilizer being used. In some countries (where as most of the US vegatables are imported) human waste is used a fertilizer. Thank you for responding.
