Do you rinse off your toothbrush after using it?

My hubby has an annoying habit of not rinsing his toothbrush off after each use. I've tried telling him that germs and bacteria will build up on his toothbrush. But, he forgets every time. Leave it to a guy to be unhygenic about mouth care. But, then I'm sure that I have habits which annoy him, as well.
I'm really picky when it comes to my toothbrush. I don't share with anyone and I like to make sure to scald it off before and after each use. And, I let it drip dry, so as not to build up germs. Sometimes, I rinse the brush in hydrogen peroxide before use.
Do you rinse your toothbrush off before and after each use?

I always rinse my toothbrush and I hide it in a case away from the bathroom. My kids never rinse theres and will leave them anywher even on the ground. I am always getting them new ones as I find this gross.

First off I must say EWWW not rinsing a toothbrush is icky.
I rinse mine off every time..and I usually rinse it before use as well with water. I hate the thought of the toothpaste re-solidifying and getting goopy or hard and reusing already gooped toothpaste!

Yes, I always rinse my toothbrush before and after each use. And like you, I do not share my toothbrush with anyone, not even my husband. The less germs it has on it the better!

Darn it, how did my picture get on this discussion? I'm sorry about that. I had been responding to another discussion and must have put this picture here by mistake. That's what I get for having too many tabs open at once.

I actually hadn't considered it "rinsing". I run water over my toothbrush before I use it because I brush with baking soda and peroxide so I need the bristles damp to pick up the baking soda. And after I am finished, I hold the brush under the running water for a few seconds. I'm not sure if that is long enough to actually sanitize it. Although the peroxide should be doing that somewhat.

Ewww, doesn't it get all crusty with toothpaste?? I usually rinse mine off and use a denture cleaner on it once a week, but I wonder if you could get him to drop it in a container with an Efferdent tab after each use. The tabs bubble, make cool noises, and smell nice, so maybe it would appeal to the little boy in him?

don't mean any offense but.. ew. that's one unhygienic habit of him.
i always rinse my toothbrush after use. i make sure that its clean before putting it back to its place. i am also very particular with my toothbrush. i make sure to change it even before it wears off. and i always buy toothbrushes with caps so it can prevent dust and other dirt from getting into the bristles.

Yes,I do.It is essential that I do because I don't want the feeling to be gross the next time I use it.

Yes I do rinse it off with water after each use. We have the same habit of washing it with hydrogen peroxide but I only do it once a week. I can say that every time I do this I can feel and smell my toothbrush cleaner. Your husband can get infection when he keeps doing this. My dentist said that toothbrushes can leave little cuts into the gums and unclean toothbrushes can infect your gums. So it is really a must to make sure that we have clean toothbrushes.

I always rinse off my toothbrush with very hot water, before and after each use. I also don't leave my toothbrush out in the open, like on the counter, because when we slush out toilets the germs fly all over the room, as I was told on Oprah. I keep my toothbrush in the drawer of my vanity and I put a sheet of paper towel under it and over it. I am really cautious when it comes to my toothbrush, maybe too much so. I won't let anyone else use my toothbrush either, and I always have a couple cheap ones, new, on hand just incase. The only other person that every used my toothbrush was my husband so that wasn't too bad, but I would never let anyone else use it.

Yes, i have a habit of rinsing my toothbrush before and/or after using it but just with water. After rinsing I tapped it to the side of a sink to dry. You are right, germs and bacteria will live and grow there if you don't rinse it. take care =)

I always rinse off my toothbrush. It probably does not make it more sanitary, but I cannot see anyone having left over toothpaste from weeks ago on it. Mind you I am not fastidious in that I do not use hydrogen peroxide (what does that do to the inside of your mouth, I wonder) but I do make sure that I run it under the cold water tap each time. Besides most of my teeth are capped or filled so there is little damage that can be done to them.

I rinse my toothbrush everytime. My husband has a very bad habit, he will brush his teeth while showering, after he is done, he will toss it out of the shower and where it land, who knows. I started putting the cat litter in the bath room, i just hope that it doesn't land in there. lol

I would always make sure that my toothbrush is in clean condition after I use it. So, I would always rinse it off after using it. I don’t share my toothbrush with anyone either. I still love my mouth so I would always make sure that all part of my mouth will stay healthy during my life, even if my hair has grown white.

I alway rinse off my toothbrush after use, I never forget. I can't do what he does that's just sort of nasty. I love my mouth and first priority is to take good care of it.
