On the average, how many times you scratch certain parts of your body? It's our natural reaction to stimulus. If you can avooid it, you'll be in ripley's.

When I was preggy I was told never to scratch my tummy coz I'll have stretchmarks. I tried not to, but when I was asleep I scratched and scratched hehe. now my tummy's full of stretchmarks!

If it itches I'm going to scratch it and that is all there is to it.
For some reason I developed eczema on the top of my feet. The doctor gave me something for it but until I found out what it was I would scratch it real good with a hair brush then lay a wash cloth dipped in vinager on it.
True it would burn, but that felt better than the uncontrolable itching. After awhile it wouldn't itch at all.

I don't think so. I don't think it is always a conscious act . I think it just happens. Even in our sleep. May be how the mind body connection is set up.

Well, I don't avoid scratching it, I enjoy scratching it since it's itchy. Unless, the scratch will leave me a bad scar especially when I diagnos to have Chicken Poax.

I think it is the natural thing to do no matter how hard . Lotion only helps to a point and sooner or later you will cave in and scratch. I mean if it is poison ivy and chicken pox you gotta try your hardest . Oat meal lotion helped some , but even then I did. I think that we will just scratch without thinking. I always wondered this as well .
have a good one.
