Why do YOU think the Beatles really broke up?

I know it was a long time ago. Half of them are dead but you hear so many stories. I listen to their wonderful music and can't fully understand how they could work so beautifully together then implode. Some say Paul got greedy, some say John lost interest. Some say they all lost interest. I would love to hear every thing, truth, gossip, wild stories.

They were burning out and their interests starting going in different directions. George definitely wanted to go his own way musically and spiritually and John had problems with some members of the band over his wife. I think it was time but, man, they were great!

I kinda agree with the first response. They were together for a very long time and people and situations change. They did a lot of work together and now they probably just didn't want to be a group anymore. They were all extremely young when they started (especially Paul) and never really got a chance to be on their own or do what they wanted to. So, I think their group basically ran its course.

The must have grown in different directions. They were all so talented and probably needed to pursue individual passions. It's not like they had anything more to prove. They were set for life and did not have to be the beatles anymore. Of course there are the frictions caused by Yoko Ono being there.
