Gay marriage just wondering....

I am not trying to start a war. I am just curious as to what happens when a gay couple goes to california to get married and then comes back to a state that doesn't recognize that marriage? Are they still legally married? Are they allowed to carry company health insurance on their partner? I know that straight marriages are recognized in all states and the benefits that go with it so I was curious as to what happens with a marriage that is not recognized in all states. Just wondering what everyone thought and if any one had some answers to my questions.

I really don't know as I have not really thought about it, but I imagine they would have to reconized as being married, even if they did get married in another state, and I think they should have the same benefits just like any other couple.

I would think that it would have to recognized by all states if they were married, but I don't know. I don't really know how I feel about gay marriage right now.

Gee I wonder why it would be a problem to get divorced. It should be like any other marriage.

I am not sure if you are interested or not but I wanted to share what I saw on the news the other day and it is causing problems. They are saying that these marriages may not be legal any where but the state they got married in. They are also saying that there maybe problems for these couples to get divorced later on as well.

It depends on each individual state's laws. For example, gay couples in Rhode Island may be married in Massachusetts and their marriage is fully recognized at home in RI. Gets me how it's not legal in RI yet, though!
