Is there a healthy alternative for butter. I had my gallbladder removed a year ago and since then I have trouble eating pretty much everything. The worst offender is butter I can not eat it with out suffering within minutes of eating. I get horrible stomache pain and an unpleasant ending. I was wondering if their is a good lowfat subsitute that I can use in cooking, I am not sure what butter does for the meal. I am bummed because I loved baked potatoes smoothered inn butter but now have to find another way to eat them:(

I am sorry to hear about your illness. There are butter with no cholesterol that are on the market. Have you ever try one of those. Ask your doctor or a pharmacist if you can be able to eat this form of butter. There are no fatty acids in it. If not then you will have to use the soy products. There are also the products that the vegetarian use to supplement the butter. Maybe you can go inside one of those shops and seek assistance. All the best.

THanks I will try them, hope that they will work for me. This problem is so frusturating. My doctor tells me that I just have to avoid what is bothering me, whch seems to b everything but salad. Maybe I will become a vegeterian, lol.
