Just check the position of the virus... is it a system file? or some dll. if it is not then check the intensity of the virus in the website. If the state is dangerous... quarantine it. If it cant be quar. then delete it. If by chance the virus enters the system files and cant be quarantined....... I am sorry u gotta FORMAT it !!! If u can arrange for NOD-32 antivirus... it is the best.

There several possibility. 1. check your loaded application at startup, check it with your msconfig. Deselect your unwanted program to run at startup, see it at startup tabs and then restart your computer. 2. try to manually remove your quarantined files and watch is there any windows system file in the quarinted folder ? 3. try clean your computer with virus removal software, etc symantec.com. because some viruses writing their script on registry files and that can make your computer run slower. have a nice try

Recently virus are increasing getting stronger everyday. I am running a homebase internet cafe and when I cant remove or troubleshoot the pc because of virus problem, I usually format it and re install the programs myself. I your case, since the viruse causes your pc to slow down, I recommend that you format it but be sure you have all the programs needed for the setup process..

If it takes about 10mins to boot up, then just Re-Install your operating system, There's no use of using those anti virus to remove the virus in your computer. After a fresh installation, use your anti virus regularly! What i do, is remove the viruses by myself, as i am a kind of a hacker, so i don't need any anti virus! All the best!!

You can download antivirus software like avast or avg antivirus. if this can't still solve your problem with the viruses, you can format your pc and be sure to back up all your important files. This already happened to me several times and i think formatting it will do the trick!

I had several a while back and the best thing to do is to go to download.com and search for AVG antivirus. it is completley free and it will scan for viruses and then delete or fix the corruption that caused it. It is just as if not more powerfull than norton just without the absurd amount of updates and pop ups that norton uses. It also takes up about 1/5 of the space that norton takes up. Highly recomended by my Internetworking teacher. He works with this stuff for a living and he said this has saved his butt a few times.

Quarantine are special location set by your anti-virus program where infected files are moved to prevent further infection. This is if you opted to move them there and not to delete them completely. I believe all AV program if it employ quarantine has its own way of clearing it contents. Just check your AV documentation or it option setting. If you did a system scan and clean out the infection then the slow boot is not cause by it. Do a disk cleanup and a registry fix using tools such as CCleaner.
