Do you believe Mrs. Norris was an animagus?

To be honest, this has been my theory all along. I believe that Mrs. Norris is, infact, an animagus and that she is also Filch's wife. You see, in my thoughts, Filch is a squib, yes, and so therefore his magical powers to seek out students would not be up to par against the other teachers so he has his wife [Mrs. Norris] do the dirty work for him. He then finishes up the processed after she gives him the information and so being doesn't let slip that he doesn't have magical ability like the rest of the staff.
Thoughts?

That sounds like a pretty good theory, and it makes a lot of sense, maybe Mrs. Norris does do Filch's dirty work for him,and maybe she seeks out information for him on the students, and thats how he always seems to know everything.

Well I thought mrs. Norris was an animagus too but not Filch's wife. Just a witch trapped in an animal form I think. If she was Filch's wife...well I don't think Dumbledore would allow her to be a cat all the time, don't you think?
But Mrs. Norris was not an animagus because J.K.Rowling already explained she was only a cat just like Crockshanks (and hermione's cat seemed an animagus too, don't you think?)

Yeah I agree if she was Filch's wife Dumbledore would not allow her to be a cat all the time, but you make an impressive argument, and Hermoines cat does also sound like an animagus.
