I do have insomnia from time to find. They say you need to set your alarm and be sure to get up at your regular time so you can get back on your regular schedule. It is also a good idea to not drink any beverage with caffiene after 2p., don't nap during the day, exercise, do not eat late in the evening, candles and soft music may be of help too.

There is a simple trick that most overlook.
Don't just darken the room. Block out all light and all sound - at your head - using an eye mask and ear plugs.
If you still struggle, test saliva pH. Your body may be too acidic.
If so, correcting that will help.

I have had incurable insomnia for 14 years that seems to have been brought on by the birth of my son. I have had sleep studies, neuro testing, etc. I have gone for 21 days without sleep during studies. There are of course many treatments and meds for insomnia. I have tried all of them I think. Over the counter meds are not to bad for normal insomnia. I have found the best prescription med is Hydroxine. Many of the prescription meds that I have had caused severe memory loss and night terrors. Of course the normal basics apply, such as, do not eat after 7pm, never lay in your bed if you are not sleeping, make the room as dark as possible, before sleep time do not do anything stimulating (puzzles, internet). I can sympathize and hope it is just a passing thing. Sleep tight!
