Who will take care of your dog while you go on vacation? We will always leave at least one family member at home to take care of our dog, cause our dog won't eat any food that given by outsider. My dog having more serious problem about this before, which she don't even eat food give by me when my mom go to vacation. Luckily the problem already fixed. How about you? Who will take care of your dog while you go on vacation? Or did you bring your dogs together?

hello ycpgodberg, we always try to bring our dog with us as much as we can as we prefer that he is with us, it also helps us not to worry or wonder if we can can our trip or not due to some incident. we are happy that most hotels now accept dogs in the room and even some theme parks or places of attraction allows pets with leash on 'em so it is much better as they enjoy the trip as much as we do, if even we cant really bring him (like flying to another country) then we have to leave him to our dear friend and he will stay there till we comes back. he is great dog but not friendly after all the trauma that had happened to him back then so it is not easy for him to adapt to others specially with a family that has another pet as he tends to be jealous but other than that he will survive with another person with him provided that he will just have his own peace LOL my dad-in-law have a dog and they cannot really go places together lately as they have a dog and they see her as a family baby so someone should always be with her as well as the cats, so trips is not that easy. anyway, i hope your dog is fully recovered now and will be able to adjust with all the changes that might happen to her. takecare

oh, that's pretty sad i hope that the government as well as the family will help and educate each one of us of the importance of life be it human or animals. animals need our care and love specially the domesticated ones. i am really happy that US and other countries are giving more awareness and openness bout pets. thanks for the best response and for being a wonderful and loving pet owner. keep it up. takecare

Your dog are so lucky. Because of our government don't like dog, most of the hotel, public area don't allow dog at all.

My wifes best friend always takes care of our dogs when we go somewhere. We have a kennel for the bigger dogs and she will come by twice a day to let them out for a while and feed them. She always takes our little Maltese home with her rather then leaving him in the Kennel. He is so spoiled and is an indoor dog. He is also the only one that will not eat when we are gone. The others could care less as long as their bellies are full.

We have a deal with friends. We watch their animals on vacation..and when we go, they watch ours. That way the animals can be at home and comfortable! (We leave on the TV in the days for them. At night, we turn it off, so they sleep welll. It seems fairly normal to them then.)

WE will be going on vacation at the end of the month, Yeah! and we will be taking our dogs with us! We bought a small pickup just so that we can take our 2 chocolate Labs with us. After the kids have moved away from home, it seems that we plan our trips more around our dogs now! LOL!

When we are traveling, they ride in the back of the pickup. We have a canopy so they are enclosed. We also had to put in a couple of vents so to make sure they are getting enough fresh air! Yep, our dogs are pretty spoiled! We will be going to visit my mom this vacation and she lives in the high desert and no neighbors! So they will have the run of the desert and they love going to grandma's house!

Congratulation, for you and your dog too. So you will just let them stay at the back of your pickup?

My dog usually won't eat for a day when I'm gone. I thinkthey worry when their people aren't around and do not want to eat. I now my dog is always so overjoyed to see me even if I;ve just gone to the mailbox. it is love.

When we have go on vacation my next door neighbor has taken my dog. He is practically family so my dog loves him and my best friend and her kids have taken her. My dog adores children and thinks they are her puppies especially disabled children so it worked out really well. My dog slept at her son's feet and protected him from everyone even his own dad.

So I think take your pets to your relatives.Although it won't eat any food by others. I think the dog didn't have a good sight but a good smell. Put your clothers you dressed to your relatives. Then feed them by dressing that clothes.Try this way ,may be useful for you dog.

When I go on holiday I nearly always leave my dog with a trusted family member. I do this because my dog can find it easy to settle. I've only taken my dog with me twice on holiday - both in Cornwall in a caravan which we rented.

If we can't take the dogs with us then they stay with my dad and his dogs. The dogs have lots of fun running in a temporary pack and we have the piece of mind knowing that they will be safe and well cared for. Theya re always happy to see us when we come home though.

I don't have a dog, but I used to have a rabbit. I think pets are the same. They are like babies of the family. I can't imagine people will leave their babies at home alone, which is very irresposible. The best way, I think, is to have someone stay with them, especially someone who he is familiar with. Bringing them with you might not be a good idea either. The trip might not be very comfortable to them.

I always take dogs with me. The only time that dogs are not with me is when I take international trip. My dogs are with my boyfriend or someone who stays in my house with dogs.

So far I have always been able to leave my dog with my parents if I have not been able to take him with me, but even if they can't watch him I have a good friend with another dog just like him who can take care of him. It's always good to have people he knows and trusts that are able to look after him as I'd never trust a kennel to take care of him as good as he deserves.

I always wanted to take my one dog on vacation , but my fiance thinks it would'nt be fair to the dog to sit in the room when we are out . I would try to take the dog most places . Anyway , I usually will have my brother take care of my pets and he will hosue sit . Gives him a small break away as well .

Hi ! Our pet is our family member, so I will try my best to bring him with us. If impossible, I will leave him with my best friends who are also familiar with it.

For long trips (going to overseas), I'll leave my dog to my neighbour or friends. For short trips like day trip (using car), I will bring my dog along.
