EQ is not the opposite of IQ. Some people are blessed with a lot of both, some with little of either.What reseachers have been trying to understanding is how they complement each other;how one's ability to handle stress, for instance,affects the ability to concentrate and put intelligence to use,Among the ingredients for success,researchers now generally agree that IQ counts for about 20%;the rest depends on everything from class to luck to the neural pathways that have developed in the brain over millions of years of human evloution.

Based on an IQ test I took years ago, I have above-average IQ. But I guess my EQ's on the other end. I used to get nagged by my mom constantly; she kept telling me just being smart isn't enough. True enough, the "smartest" people in my graduating class back in high school didn't get the highest paying jobs. I used to think it was all about the IQ until I woke up to the real world realizing that the number of books you read nor the all the facts you've retained in your head doesn't count.
