Even I am Impressed

Like many others I receive copious quantities of spam every day. Usually at the rate of about 5:1 spam/proper messages. I have noticed recently that my spam is increasingly coming from people that I think that I know. For example, let's say that I have a friend called Marjory. She regularly E mails me about fairly innocuous things. Just recently though, someone called "Marjory" increasingly sends me spam mail about anything and everything. Or my friend Joe Doe. I seem to be getting spam mail from "Doe Insurance services", and other names besides. This could all be a coincidence; but is my spam looking at me regular mail and learning? Creepy isn't it. Love to you all - Hillary Bush!

I think that it's just a coincidence alhough it's quite weird. Maybe there's something in it. Always check twice before you open such mail.

I have noticed this when checking my spam too p1ke my Darling and have even opened a few because of it - silly thing to do indeed! I guess they get our addresses and things from cookies or something but I always clear them so I am not too sure! It does get a bit spooky sometimes but I can usually tell which are real and which are spam so it isn't too bad! xxx

I notice that sometimes too... where I'm getting names on my spam senders that are similar to some of my friends' names that I get emails from sometimes. I'm sure it could simply be a coincidence, but with modern technologies and hackers and such, it makes me wonder too.

Well it is amazing how we can search something or get mail from sibling/friends and then start getting tons of it at first I thought cool I got mail from family then I went in and it was about male enhancement pills and viagra(pardon the spelling) From then on I didn't check even if it said (none) in the subject they have to say hey it is me so and so before I look now. it is really creepy like you said but that is technology for you when computers can do it all almost..

A computer tech friend of mind tells me I shouldn't be opening emails from friends that are "forwards" because some of these forwarded emails (those "cute" jokes and chain letters, etc.) can have a type of virus in them that will "capture" all of the email addresses in my email program. From there, the virus can start sending my contacts emails that seem to be coming from me. He has got his wife "trained" so she never opens any forwarded emails. I'm still working on this. Sometimes, I just "have" to see whats in that email. And some day I'm likely to be making a call to him because I opened a "special surprise." I really need to quit opening those forwards.
