I just read on www.nwanews.com that a hen has tested positive for the bird flu according to a memo released tueday by arkansas livestock and poultry commission in little rock. The U.S Department of agriculture notified the commission about the sample this week.upon discovery the flock of 15,000 chickens owned by tyson food inc.were destroyed. They said the birds showed no illness and did not enter the food chain but the birds were destroyed for precautionary measures. They said they have no clue how the chicken caught the disease and 50 other farms around the area are being tested and all farms with in 6 miles of the the infected bird are being quarentined.I don`t know about you guys but with the way are food keeps being recalled this doesn`t make me feel any safer and if they don`t know how the bird contracted the bird flu then how are they going to stop it from happening again.
