Root Canal Treatment

Oh my am not sure if this is painful cause i would be going to get it done tomorrow RTC Root canal treatment..have any of u undergone this...is it very painful???? share ur experiences ..hope that makes it better( or worse) to get it done ;) :)

its not painful actually.
pulp is the infected part of the tooth,so it needs to be cleaned,and the treatment is called root canal therapy.
the pulp may either be non vital or vital.
if non vital,no need of anesthesia because the pulp in now necrotic.you may no longer feel sensitivity or pain.
but if it is still vital,you will be anesthetized,of course in the area of infected tooth only.and you will never feel the pain.
dont be afraid or get nervous,ok?
root cant treatment is one way of saving the tooth to health.

Well it wasnt that painful true...but the after affects of it ..i have a little pain but sure is bearable....and thanks for your encouraging words...but i did get a little nervous...but yes to think that this little pain can save more pain the rest of my life is worth giving it a try...You really have a nice knowledge about the treatment..dont tell me ur a dentist or studying for it ;)..well i know too that one can get enough info on the web...but the way you explained things i just had my doubts :) thanks anyways :)

The dentist completely numbed my jaw before going in, mostly because I am a big baby and I get scared around needles. He finished up, and I went straight to school from there. They are right when they say that you can go from getting a root canal and back to work the same day. I am not sure if they prescribed the painkillers for the root canal procedure or for some other procedure. I cannot remember if it hurts after the fact. But, your dentist should take care of you.
